Obstacles[edit | edit source]
Checkpoints[edit | edit source]
Checkpoints are helpful obstacles that work simply as set locations for characters to respawn at after they die, given that the character was able to touch the checkpoint in the first place.
They do not appear in No Death Mode, as that would make them entirely purposeless due to the fact that they require player deaths to function.
Spikes[edit | edit source]
Spikes are the most basic of the obstacles, as they simply just kill any character that makes contact with them, sending them back to the last checkpoint or teleporter.
Conveyor belts[edit | edit source]
Conveyor belts are terrain-like obstacles that force Viridian to move in a certain direction, with moving in the direction being rewarded with speed, but going against the direction being punished with becoming slower.
Gravity lines[edit | edit source]
Gravity lines are obstacles that force viridian to flip gravity. They are used excessively in The Laboratory, as the main gimmick of the level, and they remain prominent in The Final Level. In time trial mode, you can also see it in Space Station 2.
The Gravitron and its super counterpart are mini-games relying entirely on Gravity Lines and enemies.
Platforms[edit | edit source]
Platforms are simple level design constructs that come in two types;
One type of platform that will move Viridian in a direction.
Another type of platform that will start to break the moment Viridian steps on it.
Both types look exactly the same; like a single coloured rectangle.
